Day uh. 23...

Oh...wonderful...one day apparently turned into two weeks.

I am working on the Day of the Dead groom now. It's going to be a Christmas present for my dad since he said that it was his favorite when I showed him the book.

Also, AHHH I JUST REMEMBERED KATE IS GOING TO BE HOME TODAY AND WILL GET MY PACKAGE. FPAFFEFAUERPUAWODDFJDsdfOEUEIUAODJPWjqwoRUpowifegjlodfjpSOEUIpqwe8e

I might tell what's in it. But only after I know she's opened it.

AHHH!

Missed Day 10...here's Day 11?

It's 11/11...and I forgot to have my morning dose of 11:11. I did get 12:00, but I was more than a little ticked that I missed 11:11. But as long as I don't miss it in 15 minutes, I'm set.

I missed Day 10, which I'm also not too happy about, but it's been more hectic than usual for me, and truth be told, I've just abandoned my work for a day or two.

CAUGHT IT!

love.

(Okay, I know this had absolutely nothing to do with crocheting, but I'll upload some pictures tomorrow.)

Day 9...and I'm on time for once!

YESSS. I feel really on top of things tonight. Finishing halves of paired sets and sewing on buttons...

getting English assignments done...

and oh yeah, wearing a towel turban.

I'm not liking the fact that Blogger takes forever to format, but hey, it's free...

So there you go, Day 9 of NaBloPoMo...3 weeks to go!

Day what?

POST, QUICK, BEFORE IT'S TOMORROW!

Yeah. The finished gloves.

ETA: I really wanted to get this in before 12:00 so it wouldn't be late. XD It wasn't...so I'm updating now.

I finally finished the fingerless gloves, which makes me extremely happy because they are the first project that I have managed to actually finish in a while. And now I'm starting a pair for myself, so hopefully this pair will be the same way.

Also, they do look a bit short at first, but they were made for a 5-year-old girl, so they're about medium-length on her.

I sort of used a pattern, but there were differences...like the fact that I started with a rectangle, then connected the sides halfway up so there's a slit. If I can find a few buttons, I'll put them on, but for now they'll do.

So that's the fingerless gloves...yay! Bye. :D

Whoops...day 6, I guess.

Again? Really?

But I was so busy crocheting this that I didn't even think about my devil.

I know, I know...another project. But I got my CrochetMe More email today...and it had designs for fingerless gloves...what's a girl to do? I got out my burnt-orangey yarn, found a pattern, modified it to fit my sister (that's why it's so small, FYI), and crocheted for a solid block of about two hours. Crochet, fix mistakes, crochet, repeat.

So that's the first fingerless glove. As far as I know, it should fit at least from the bottom to the base of her thumb - I had her try it on at a few intervals while making it - so hopefully it will be okay.

Also, I used this pattern on CrochetMe and altered it a bit to make it work. For example...I started out with 32 chains instead of 20, which in the end was a huge mistake because there's a huge swell in the middle, but it somehow eventually worked out so that it was exactly 19...which is exactly what the pattern called for.

I do have to go now, though, as it's almost 12:30 and I'm getting really tired. I hope you enjoyed my longer-than-normal post...see you later.

:)

Ah, boo. Day 5...meh.

So, I know, it's not technically Day 5 anymore. And so it begins...this may very well be the first of a few missed posts. Just like last year. Coincidentally, going through my attempt at NaBloPoMo from last year was what caused me to miss the fact that the days changed.

Apart from that, though...I'm almost finished with the devil's head. Next up is the tail. I'm looking forward to the accessories, although the head and body fit perfectly in my palms, which I love. My ninja (Shinobi) and my crocheting buddy, Tiny the Beanie Baby chihuahua, are the same way. They fit perfectly. It's like a hug from my palm. XD

I'm going to go to bed or something now...it's after 12:30. I need to be up and ready at 7:00. Bleh.

goodbye.

Day 4...progress!

This is what I accomplished today between about 4:10 and now, only crocheting on breaks between homework...half of the head!

I'm finally making more progress, and I can't wait until it's finished. There's not too much left, only the rest of the head, the stuffing, the lapel, tail, and embroideries. Then sew it together and it's done! And after that comes the monkey.

I love Creepy Cute Crochet.

Happy crocheting!

Not an update, but...Day 3.

I don't know if you can see it that well, but here it is:

(and yes, that's what I look like!)
I'm sort of (a.k.a. really) obsessed with this singer named Ingrid Michaelson...you might have heard of her...she has this really good song called "The Way I Am." So she came to Cincinnati last Thursday, and as I had my tickets a few months in advance, I decided to crochet a mini-her based on a photo from a show at NYC's City Winery. And this doll is the product of my efforts.

I crocheted the body and head from the pattern for the Corporate Zombie in, yes, Christen Haden's Creepy Cute Crochet. I made hair from my own design, and I sewed the hat over that. I made the scarf with a D hook, red yarn, and a 3-stitch-wide improv and sewed that on, then bent some wire for her glasses.

And that is the story of my cute (yet very stalker-like) Ingrid Michaelson doll.

Cheers!

Day 2

What I accomplished today and yesterday:

^^ The first (and slightly worse) picture I took.

The second - this one is much better.

This is the body of the devil from Creepy Cute Crochet by Christen Haden, in case you haven't read yesterday's post. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some more done (lunch, anyone?). I'm aiming to finish the body and possibly start the head, but we'll see.

Next on the list: I have to decide between the Day of the Dead couple and the monkey...I think I might do the monkey, though.

adios!

NaBloPoMo...

Hmm. Should I do it? I could...you know, do daily progress shots, or something like that.

I think I'll try.

Short post to start...but they will probably get longer as the month goes by!

adios.
