The Hat

Besides being an amazing song by Ingrid Michaelson, I am working on a new hat. So far, all my hats have come out weirdly shaped and not even looking like they're supposed to. I've only tried beanies, but they've all come out looking like berets.

I'm hoping this one will be different.

I'm using Caron Simply Soft Brites! in Lemonade, which is a buttery, sunny sort of color. I'm not sure if this yarn is even produced anymore, but I got it from a flea market, so if it isn't, that's why. :D

Pictures may come soon. Hopefully this will turn out better. Cross your fingers.

DPNs

Currently attempting to knit on DPNs. It's confusing. And the needles are always stabbing me in the fingers! I need thimbles. Or something. But at least it's coming along okay! I was confused at first, but with the help of the World-Wide Interwebs, I'm doing fine. :D

I'm trying to knit a pair of socks from this pattern at f. pea. I don't know if I have enough yarn, and technically it's not even sock yarn, but oh well, at least it's a learning experience, right? :D

Okay, my fingers are sore now...adios.

NINJAS.

Guess what?

I made a NINJA. :D

It's kind of based on the one in Creepy Cute Crochet by Christen Haden, except I used this pattern for the body and just crocheted an off-white oval for the part of the face that shows. So without further ado...

Shinobi!

He took me maybe...4 or 5 hours to make? Well, the body did. It took me an hour to get his little shuriken right and to sew it on. His face was about half an hour total, and the sash only took about 15 minutes, so altogether I think I spent about 6 to 7 hours on him. I'm proud of him, though. He's one of my crocheting buddies. My other crocheting buddy is...

Tiny, who is a Beanie Baby chihuahua that I bought Friday at a flea market. She's so cute! Plus she fits in the palm of my hand. <3

I'm proud of my ninja! 8D I know, I know, I said that already, but I am! It's so tiny, and even though it's supposed to be stealthy, it's also undeniably cute.

Okay, done. :D

FOs

One thing that bugs me about crocheting: Most people, when they see a person with yarn in public, automatically assume that said person is knitting, when said person is actually crocheting. Obviously, there are some exceptions, but still...they don't even bother to ask "What are you doing?" They just say, "Oh, you're knitting!..." blah blah blah.

Other than that, I have pictures of things I've done (and can find :D ) so far:

That is the head (finished and stuffed) to the bear I'm making for the neighborhood garage sale in September. (Here's the pattern if you want to make it, but make sure you have a Lion Brand account first.)

A random eyeball I made from this pattern. Only put the flash on for that picture because I used navy blue and you can't see it otherwise.

Just a little hackey sack I made and embroidered--just started with 6 ch in a magic loop and increased/singled/decreased as needed.

Okay, looks-wise, this looks nice and beret-ish. Pattern-wise, though...well, it was supposed to look SO much different. This could be partially due to the fact that only at about the 19th round did I realize I was actually slip-stitching instead of singling. Ah well...pattern is here if you want to make it.

Also, does anyone else notice that if you upload pictures, they always go to the top and you have to move them? It's annoying me, so...I don't know. Help if you can? Haha...
